Hereford Triathlon Club Open Water Swimming
Participation is limited to 20 swimmers for safety reasons.
General Information:
- Open water swimming sessions are held at Bodenham Lake on Friday evenings from 6 PM to 7 PM and are exclusive to members.
- Swimmers should be competent before attending an open water session. Be honest about your swimming experience and inform coaches and volunteers if you have not previously swum in a lake, river, or sea. A safety briefing will be provided before entering the water.
Location Details:
- The lake is located just outside the village of Bodenham, with the postcode HR1 3JT. The car park is accessed via a narrow lane off a C road, so please check the location before your first visit. Herefordshire Wildlife Trust manages both the car park and the lake.
- Please note that parking charges are now enforced at the lake via ANPR. Make sure to read the signs in the car park and familiarize yourself with the new regulations. Please pay for your parking as you leave the car park. Fines will be issued for non-compliance, so be cautious.
Social Media Policy:
- Do not mention the venue on social media or post any data that reveals the location. Our agreement with Herefordshire Wildlife Trust prohibits promoting the venue or disclosing the location of our sessions.
For Members Aged 16 to 18:
- Written permission from a parent or guardian is required for attendance at the sessions. An email will suffice.
- Your information will be securely stored in compliance with data protection regulations.
Additional Notes:
- No spectators or animals are allowed in the compound. If you wish to bring children, pets, family, or friends, they must watch from the lakeside.
Arrival Instructions:
Please arrive at the compound by 5:50 PM. The gate will not open before this time to ensure that no one enters the lake prior to the establishment of safety cover.
